On September 10, 2026, the University of Finance - Marketing organized the “MagSafe Innovation Workshop: From Ideas to Competition Proposals” at its 27 Tan My Campus. The workshop aimed to support students in developing creative ideas, refining product solutions, and preparing proposals for the MagSafe Solution and Accessory Design Competition for iPhone.

Designed to strengthen students’ innovation capacity, the workshop introduced a practical process ranging from identifying real-world problems and generating ideas to developing products and presenting viable solutions. It also provided an interactive platform for students to engage with experts and lecturers, receive professional feedback, and further refine their concepts before entering the competition.

The workshop featured Duong Tran, Founder of Ariel Studio, Product Designer and Maker, who shared practical experience in product design and development. He emphasized that a strong competition proposal should clearly demonstrate the problem being addressed, the target users, the context of use, and the specific value delivered by the proposed solution.

Students were also guided on how to structure and present their proposals effectively, including key product features, distinctive advantages, practical value, and feasibility. Drawings, visual materials, 3D models, and prototypes were highlighted as useful tools to help judges better understand the proposed products.
Drawing on his professional experience, the speaker encouraged students to look beyond novelty and consider the overall user experience, usability, manufacturability, and compatibility with the MagSafe ecosystem. These factors, he noted, are essential in transforming an initial idea into a solution with genuine potential for further development.
The Q&A session focused on practical questions such as how to identify an innovative yet relevant MagSafe idea, assess its potential to become a viable product, communicate its competitive advantages, and present a proposal that enables judges to quickly recognize the value of the solution.

Through the workshop, students gained a clearer understanding of the innovation process: identifying a problem, generating an idea, developing a solution, assessing feasibility, visualizing the product, refining the proposal, and effectively presenting the concept.
Beyond preparation for the competition, the program provided students with opportunities to strengthen their design thinking, product development, and presentation skills. Participants also had the opportunity to experience the latest Apple products at the exhibition booth of Di Dong Viet – Didongviet.vn and receive gifts from the program sponsor.

The MagSafe Innovation Workshop contributed to strengthening the University of Finance - Marketing’s innovation ecosystem by encouraging students to apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges and progressively transform creative ideas into practical products and solutions with potential for application.
